How to reach Orvieto by car or train

By car

Orvieto is between Florence and Rome. Those travelling on the A1/E35 motorway (Autostrada del Sole) can exit at the Orvieto toll booth.

We recommend parking at the Campo della Fiera indoor car park. Leave the motorway, follow the signs to Viterbo, and head towards Orvieto from the South/West side (in the direction of Porta Romana / Via Garibaldi). Once you park your car, use the escalators or the lift to reach the city centre.

From the upper exit of the lifts or escalators, follow Via Garibaldi, Corso Cavour, and Via del Duomo to reach Piazza del Duomo, about 800 meters away.

By train

Trenitalia

Orvieto is located on the Rome-Milan train line, making it easily accessible by train. Consult the Trenitalia website for timetables. The Orvieto railway station is in Orvieto Scalo, at the foot of the historic cliff. You can easily reach the city centre by taking the funicular in the square opposite the station or using the local bus service. Piazza del Duomo, where the MODO exhibition route begins, can also be easily reached with a 15-minute walk through the historic centre. Walk along Corso Cavour for about 800 meters, then turn left onto Via del Duomo at the Torre del Moro.
